Essential Oils You Should Avoid During Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a difficult time for many women. Easing the pains of pregnancy aren’t particularly easy either. With the rising use of essential oils, many pregnant ladies are bound to try to ease their pain with them.

Now it isn’t a bad thing to use essential oils during pregnancy it can actually be very helpful with the right ones. BUT there are some oils you should avoid. Reason being that they could potentially be harmful to mother and baby.

I do suggest always consulting with your doctor before use of any essential oils. Not all pregnancies are equal and what may be fine for one person to use may be harmful to another.

Which ones should I be cautious around?

These are the essential oils that could be harmful to you depending on your pregnancy and your body. Be careful when considering them and talk to your doctor to make sure you can use them. If they say no, then please avoid them so that you can have a safe pregnancy.

There may be others that will end up on this list as time goes by and as they do more research on essential oils during pregnancy.

Which ones should I be avoiding?

Many Doctors tend to tell pregnant ladies to avoid these essential oils because they have done research on the effects of these during pregnancy. Again, your doctor may tell you otherwise with an essential oil because each pregnancy and woman is different.

Some conditions during pregnancy can become worse by using these, so it is best to avoid them as much as possible.

This list will probably continue to grow as more research is done.

What about the rest of the essential oils?

At this point, most others should be safe to use, but do proceed with caution as well. Ask your doctor before using any essential oil just to be sure. Just because they are not on this list or another list doesn’t automatically make it safe. Research continues to be done and doctors are more updated than anyone else when it comes to your safety and your baby’s safety.
